Enterprise & Work

GTM will lobby and campaign for the right to work for the Traveller community throughout Galway City and County. GTM will work with the community to challenge racism and discrimination in employment/self employment. We will work with the community to develop a strong collective response to the persisting inequalities in accessing work, while developing peer led models that contribute to change.

GTM is committed to improving employment, self-employment and enterprise opportunities for Traveller through the Enterprising for Social Change campaign

 

Campaign Goals:

To explore and expand social enterprise opportunities in order to:

  • Increase employment opportunities for Traveller men and women.
  • Develop a powerful model of economic self-determination to inspire the wider community.
  • Reclaim the community’s role in environmental and economic sustainability.
  • Promote the visibility of our work in order to challenge racism and discrimination.
