GTM Company and management structure

Galway Traveller Movement is incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee and is a registered charity with the Charities Regulator.

It is governed by a board of directors, the seven members of which also act as trustees of the organisation.

At each annual general meeting (AGM), one third of the directors stand down, and one third of the directors are newly elected.

GTM are committed to the full participation of members of the Traveller community at all levels of decision making within the company.

The board of directors of GTM meet monthly, and takes overall responsibility for the strategic direction and values-based approach with the operational responsibility delegated to the two joint coordinators .

Financial Accounting and Reporting

The GTM financial statements and annual reports are prepared each year. The company’s financial accounts are independently audited, filed with the Companies Registration Office and submitted to the Charities Regulatory Authority.

The GTM annual reports and financial statements are available below.

Feedback and Complaints

GTM complaints policy outlines how members of the public can submit a complaint.

  • The Children First Act 2015 requires organisations that are providers of ‘relevant services’ to prepare a Child Safeguarding Statement.
  • This is a written statement that specifies the service being provided and the principles and procedures to be observed to ensure, as far as practicable, that a child availing of the service is safe from ‘harm’.
  • The GTM’s  Child Safeguarding Statement is available to download and is on display in our offices in Galway.
