Galway Traveller Movement note that on the May 3rd 2018 the Equal Status Act, Case between Coleman Sweeney, Annie Sweeney, Ciara Horan, Daniel Mc Donagh, Keith Mc Donagh, Lisa Mc Donagh, Jason Mc Donagh Roisin Brennan and Murty Rabbitt’s Public House, Galway, was settled at Galway District Court on the basis of the apology set out below, together with an agreed contribution by the respondents to three chosen charities at the request of the applicants.
The apology reads:
“The management of Murty Rabbitt’s Public House, Galway, apologies for the embarrassment caused to the following persons, Coleman Sweeney, Annie Sweeney, Ciara Horan, Daniel Mc Donagh, Keith Mc Donagh, Lisa Mc Donagh, Jason Mc Donagh, and Roisin Brennan for refusal of service on June 3rd, 2017 by reason of their membership of the Traveller Community.
The management of Murty Rabbitt’s Public House accepts that the treatment of the named persons was unfair and that there was no wrong doing on the part of the named persons, and hereby confirms that they are welcome on the premises, Murty Rabbitts”
The management of Murty Rabbitts Public House has made a donation to the following charities in the name of the said persons as a gesture of goodwill at their request,
